In brief, PIVOT seeks moments. Moments at the intersection between knowledge and uncertainty, moments that inhabit uncomfortable spaces, moments hungry for understanding. Moments that linger.
Catey Bayse Kimpel
Catey has a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing from Lesley University. She reads a lot, writes the occasional lopsided poem and misguided piece of flash, and has a lot of opinions. She won some prizes a while ago and was published a few times, but that's not super important. Mostly, she loves building and supporting inclusive, creative communities.
Erica lives and writes in a little blue house, with her needy cat and less-needy husband. She earned her M.F.A. in Fiction from Lesley University. Selected publication credits include "Three-Four Time" (featured in the Candlewick Press Anthology Things I'll Never Say), and "Invisible Objects" (nominated for a Pushcart Prize by the Young Adult Review Network). Her teaching experience includes an eight-week course on crafting novellas, and graduate seminars on the writing life. Erica is currently working on a young adult novel, and is represented by Andrea Morrison of Writers House.
Shaina studied poetry at Fresno State under Tim Skeen and holds an MA in International Relations from the University of Chicago. Her work has previously appeared in ASSISI, The Bat Shat, and others. It is forthcoming in Border Crossing. She is currently working on her first manuscript, Broken Sounds. When she isn't writing, or obsessively reading, you'll find her surfing, drinking wine, and traipsing about the Central Coast of California.
